Custom Hosting Services, IBM Canada – 2008 to 2015
Worked closely as part of the Senior Team to manage a hosting business of 180 applications on 800 servers in 5 data centres. Supported a consistently profitable portfolio with a total contract value of $110M for a variety of internal IBM clients such as Express Portal, Global Solutions Architecture Repository (GSAR), World Wide Events (WWE), Edge Information Warehouse (EIW) and World Community Grid, as well as commercial clients like BMO, CIBC, Cummins, The Co-operators and WSIB.
Led a team of 20+ Architects globally and governed end to end technical hosting solutions, working with clients and the delivery teams from the engagement phase through to production, resulting in a profitable portfolio.
Guided team to effectively gather, clarify and validate solution requirements, build the solutions, and ultimately obtain sign-off on the solutions. Reviewed architecture and led the delivery teams ensuring timely builds, implementation, configuration and security compliance to our global security standards: ITCS104 and GSD331.
Developed common, consistent deliverables for transition projects including Solution Design Documents, Architecture Diagrams, Network Diagrams, Implementation documentation and cutover plans, ensuring standard deliverables across projects on the accounts and alignment with industry standards like TOGAF.

Lead Architect for CDT Release Projects, which involved technical decision making and co-ordination of major upgrades to Operating Systems and software on servers in the CDT. Planned the technical scope, provision, co-ordinate and test. Reviewed install documents, liaised with other global architects as issues were discovered and worked them to resolution. Assisted with test plans, documented upgrade sequence.

Chaired weekly Capacity Planning and Performance Monitoring calls, ensuring the overall environment could grow as new clients boarded and that applications responded within service level agreements.
Automated build & upgrade process for 300+ servers, automated ID password resets and developed probe and monitoring tools to page out when there were issues, reducing costs to build and maintain substantially.
